In Seventh Grade English, many students read and analyze Laurence Yep’s short story “Ribbons.” This story is about the bond that forms between eleven year old Stacy and her grandmother. Upon meeting initially, Stacy and Grandmother do not get along. Grandmother seems to disregard Stacy and treats her unkindly. Stacy is unaware of the hardships that Grandmother has endured throughout her.
